I went down to Cracker Barrel and bought all sorts of treats; Moon Pies, old flashed peppermint sticks, sour apple sucker sticks, etc. I bought a couple of mason jars and put Cow Tails in one and Bits o Honey in the other and then covered the tops with cow and bee material. I also bought bandanas of several different colors and out them in there for the staff to wear with their uniforms. (Now I'm looking for an idea to repurpose the bandanas!)

The Good Turn Mouse
So, one of the things I've been doing this year is volunteering as a Girl Scout leader. I have a troop of Kindergarten Daisies and for our last meeting of the year we made Good Turn Mice. My mom used to make these for us to take to school around Christmas time, and the tail was actually a candy cane. I made the adjustment to use ribbon for the tail so the Daisies can tie knots in them when they do their good turns over the summer.
Good Turn Mouse
This sassy creature is a mouse
Most mothers won't let one in the house
See, this one it has quite a tail,
Each Girl Scout made one without fail.
Take it with you and help all week,
and to do good turns you must seek
for every good turn that you do
Tie a knot in the tail . . . Make quite a few.
Remember why each knot you tied
and how much to help you really tried
and then next time, please take your turn
to tell us all, so we can learn...
just what you did to help at home
a ready helper you have grown!
Stay tuned, I'll see if I can figure out how to post my mouse pattern . . .

The Avengers
Ok, so I was positive that I wasn't going to like The Avengers, but after all the hype and a little convincing from my sister, I did go to the movie yesterday. Half way through I realized that I had just fallen in love. So my first post back I decided to post the "Super Hero Start-Up Kit" I had created a few weeks ago for my staff during our Avengers superhero weekend at work. It's a simple bag I threw together overnight:
